Make these beautiful oven baked pineapple flowers and have a natural, elegant way to decorate your cakes and desserts! These are the decorations you want to eat! They taste delicious, are easy to make from just one ingredient, fresh pineapple!

Just make sure to allow for the overnight drying time!

I love decorating cakes, biscuits and all manner of sweets. I can get really absorbed in making fondant flowers or detailed royal icing decorations and other times I like to keep it simple, embracing the wholefoods that I enjoy eating without compromising on the beauty of a well decorated cake or dessert.

Making dried pineapple flowers is really simple, tastes delicious and made from 100% pineapple, no added sugar or anything else. Use them to create a wow factor when decorating cupcakes, cakes, ice-creams, desserts or grazing platters!

When making pineapple flowers be sure to plan ahead as they need overnight drying time.

How to make beautiful dried pineapple flowers

  • Trim the skin off a pineapple, be sure to remove all the skin and remove the eyes. You can remove the eyes individually, which leaves more of the pineapple intact or for a quicker method cut on the angle like in this wikihow article
  • Next you need to slice the pineapple as thinly as possible. This will be easier if you have a very sharp knife.
  • Dry the slices slightly using paper towel or cheesecloth for less waste.
  • Lay the pineapple slices onto a lined baking pan
  • Bake for 30 – 60 mins, then flip the pineapple slices over and bake another 30 mins. The baking time will vary depending on how thin your slices are.
  • Press each slice into a muffin pan to shape into flowers and let dry overnight!
  • They are now ready to be used to be as decoration. Store in an airtight container in a cool, dry place if not using straight away.
